Anyone who tried to remove the original mic from the stand can tell you what a pain keeping track of those washers was. This pairs with a new mounting system for the stand that gets rid of the plastic washers that used to hold the curved sides in place. The iconic pill shape of the original can still be seen in this new model, but the sides have been flattened. Better keep a polishing cloth on hand for this one. I do wish the rings were slightly less glossy, as they pick up fingerprints and smudges easily that quickly mar the look. It looks very vintage, which is an aesthetic Blue excels at (just look at the company’s logo). I love the contrast of the grill against the body. I was sent the black version but instead of being matte from tip to tail like the Blackout, it features gunmetal accents with high-gloss rings.
